Evoke is a cool mechanic in Magic The Gathering that lets you cast a creature for its evoke cost instead of its normal cost. Here's the catch: if you do, it's sacrificed when it enters the battlefield. So, you get the creature's enter-the-battlefield effect for a lower cost, but you don't get to keep the creature around.

Evoke's just an overpriced yard sale - pay less, get something cool, but it's gone before you know it.

Basically, evoke is your way of saying 'I'm here for a good time, not a long time' to your creature cards. You get their sweet, sweet abilities on the cheap, but then they peace out immediately.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
