It really depends on how you're measuring value, but if we're talking about sheer monetary value, the original Alpha set takes the crown. Being the first set ever released, Alpha cards are incredibly rare and sought after by collectors. Some of the cards from Alpha, like the infamous Black Lotus, can fetch tens of thousands of dollars on the secondary market!

If you're a new player looking at value in terms of gameplay, then recent sets like Modern Horizons 2 might be more up your alley. They contain powerful cards that can be used in various formats, giving you a lot of bang for your buck. Plus, they're easier to find than the older sets.

Alpha, no contest. They printed so few of those cards that even the commons are worth something.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
