Why is Tron called Tron in MTG?
Tron in MTG gets its name from the 'Urza's' lands (Urza's Tower, Urza's Power Plant, and Urza's Mine) which, when combined, form a powerful mana base. This naming is inspired by the movie Tron, where the protagonist fights to combine fragmented pieces of a system to become powerful. Similarly, assembling all three lands in the game gives a player access to a large amount of mana, thus 'assembling the Tron.'

Tron's just a catchy name because you combine three lands which feels like putting together Voltron. But it's actually from an old movie, not the robot.
It's called Tron because, just like in the movie, when you put all the pieces together, you unlock immense power. No Light Cycles, though, just tons of mana.
